Dreaming of Green

Green is a beautiful colour choice for a special event. Obviously it brings to mind the theme of nature, life and harmony. All About Paper has been commissioned for a few tartan themed weddings which often incorporates a lot of dark green tones but there are so many other pretty shades of green to consider.

emerald, sea green, seafoam, grass, apple, mint, forest, lime,
spring, aquamarine, chartreuse, jade, sage and my favourite viridian

Being associated with all things natural green represents everything from fertility, growth, energy and fresh starts. From that green is also considered a relaxing colour and even more so when matched with blue, prefect for our semi-tropical climate.

Green gemstones are used to attract money, prosperity and wealth.

With both a warming and cooling effect, the colour green denotes balance, harmony, and stability. Green is said to be favoured by well balanced people who have a lot of respect for themselves and others.
All About Paper is one of the Brisbane’s largest stockists for Christina Re papers and back with our huge range of specialty papers, we are sure to have just the right shade of green for your theme.

Golden Moments

Do you ever think about why we use gold at many celebrations?

Gold has always been associated with royalty, religion, tradition and wealth.

In using gold at celebrations people are wishing good fortune, wisdom, and a bright future. Pretty much any occasion you might want to celebrate could do with those wishes so don’t go past gold as an accent colour in your themes. Gold can come in shades from bright shiny bling tones to muted and vintage and many variations in between.

It is said that people who favour the colour gold have an optimistic out look on life. That sounds like our attitude here at All About Paper. We love paper and helping people to find the right match for their ideas from our large range of printed papers. Phone us at the shop to book a meeting with members of our creative team to design elegant invitations that can be very affordably made.

Candles

Candles are often part of celebrating important events either for superstition, cultural, or religious significance or simply just because they are pretty.
At weddings a unity candle ceremony is a lovely tradition which symbolises the joining of the couple and the two families. These are often a magical moments as part of your celebration.
Decorated candle classes have always been great fun here at the shop in seeing how different people create their own unique designs from our huge range of accessories and embellishments.
I have a number of contacts in the local market who can help you with special made to order candles matched with your theme and if you wanted the sweetest selection of scents your first stop would be Candlewick House in Doig St.

Choosing colour schemes

Choosing colour schemes for a celebration can be good fun. Many of us have favourite colour combinations that we want to include in the celebration as a stamp of ‘this is my event’. On other occasions traditions and society give you recommendations, gold for anniversaries and white for babies are common but there are lots of other colours in the rainbow (and our huge range of printed papers) too chose from.
If you want a pretty blue for a little girl, or a hot red for wedding or tropical greens to celebrate living in the sunny state of Queensland, I am sure we will have something here on display to suit the occasion and many ideas on little things to make your event extra special

Special Photos of Special Occasions

“A good snapshot stops a moment from running away.” Visualising minutes with running shoes may sound like a funny quote from Eudora Welty but how true it is.
We all take photos at special events to capture all the little memories and details to save that moment forever.

Many of us hire professional photographers and appreciate their valuable talents and skills. No doubt there will be lots of photo buffs in the crowd as well helping out with candid snaps as well.

It is a good idea to have a list of the particular moments and people that you want to make sure are photographed during your special event. And don’t forget to include the little details, table settings, flowers, gifts and things that made your day special.

One thing you should add to your list, is a lesson in photography and photoshop to help you learn some quick tips from experts. Some times it is the little things that mean a lot, like hands on tutorials in a small class environment.

All About Paper is proud to host Point Shoot Play for lessons in both photography, photoshop, both in small class settings and one on one. Please phone to secure your place in the next class and be amazed with the amount of tips that can quickly improve the quality of your photos.
